The “Garden of Venice” is the beautiful hilly green area in the centre of the Veneto region, against the backdrop of the high and wonderful Dolomites, among the Prosecco vineyards and the fragrance of the alpine grazing, amid the art of Palladio and Canova and the crafts of the tradition, where you can live a life in the open air along the reflections of the lagoon of Venice.

You will arrive at Venice Marco Polo Airport. You can choose to rent a car or to have a personal private driver. In this case he will meet you in the arrivals area and take you directly to your accommodation, a typical agriturismo in the hilly Valdobbiadene, a small town in the “Garden of Venice”, the best known place where the sparkling Prosecco has been produced for centuries.
When you arrive in the afternoon you will have the time to refresh and relax yourself in the swimming pool or in the wellness centre of the agriturismo, looking at the quiet mountains north or at the typical vineyards all around. In the evening begin your stay with a welcome aperitif, a glass of Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG or a Spritz (white, with Aperol or Campari).
Start your week with an idea of the typical Italian way of life! Enjoy then your welcome dinner in a charming restaurant with a local genuine menu!
In the morning enjoy a visit to Conegliano, a famous Prosecco producer as well as Valdobbiadene, the “artistic city of wine” with the old Oenological School. The city is the birthplace of the painter Cima, artist of the Venetian Renaissance, whose spectacular altarpiece is visibile in the Cathedral, the church of the mysterious Brotherhood of Beaten of the 14th century. Visit the historical town, the Chapter Room and the Beaten Room, with frescoes influenced by Dürer, the Cloister of St. Francis convent and walk up to the towers of the ancient castle.
Enjoy a free lunch in an osteria in the historical centre.
In the afternoon take part in the First Cooking Class, learning how to cook a typical Venetian menu. You will enjoy your dinner with all that you have prepared!
Have a trip to Venice, the mysterious and romantic city, pervaded by the bright water canals animated by the “gondole” and their “gondoliers”, by the architectural and artistic splendor of the the past in the encounter of different cultures, inseparable union between East and West. Discover its typical market for fruit and vegetables or for the many species of fish along the Grand Canal, admire the colors and the freshness, enjoy the traditions of the Venetian inhabitants.
In the afternoon relax at the spa and wellness centre in your agriturismo in Valdobbiadene: choose to swim in the pool or treat yourself to a massage or one of the other treatments the centre offers.
Discover life in one of the many fabulous Venetian villas, visit Villa Maser, a masterpiece by the architect Andrea Palladio and the painter Paolo Veronese. Admire the frescos with the marvellous trompe l’oeil effect, have a look at the hidden ninfeo, discover the meaning of the star signs in the unique sundial.
Have a light lunch with local wines in an ancient, recently restored farmhouse next to the villa.
Discover Asolo, the “pearl of Veneto”, the centre of the Garden of Venice, a fascinating medieval hamlet on the top of a hill, choosen by many artists over the centuries, attracted by the amenity of the countryside and by the atmosphere of innate serenity that radiate from the old palaces and the numerous works of art the city holds. Ernest Hemingway, Henry James, the actress Eleonora Duse, the poet Robert Browning and Freya Stark were only some of the many personalities who left images and memories of the beauty of the place.
Try a new experience: discover the sweet tastes of honey, or the mountain pasture cheeses (Morlacco, Bastardo or Imbriago) the olive oil or the herbs of the mountains, all local products.
In the afternoon, relaxing trip along the Prosecco Wine Road, stopping at one of the jewels of the land, the Molinetto della Croda, an ancient watermill where you can understand how farmers produced the flavour in the past.
Visit a family winery, walking among its vineyards and tasting the Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG.
In the morning take your time for shopping! Visit Treviso, the ancient roman Tarvisium, a beautiful “painted city”, colored by the water canals of the river Sile. All the streets and squares are full of shops and cafès, where the inhabitants are used to taking an “ombretta” (a glass of red or white wine) with some “cicchetti”. On some mornings a nice experience will be going to the fish market in the characteristic Pescheria, looking at the friendly fishermen and sellers. Treviso offers much history and art as well, with its historical monuments and works of art.
In the afternoon relax in the wellness centre in your agriturismo in Valdobbiadene: go for a swim in the pool or choose a massage or one of the other treatments the centre offers, it could be the best way to finish your relaxing and tasting week in the Garden of Venice!
Our Cooking Classes:
The length of the classes ranges between 2 and 3 hours. They are run by a professional cook and they are housed in very welcoming agriturismi. During all the experience there will be a friendly and helpful English speaking assistant ready to answer any question of yours.
The typical menu for lunch or dinner includes the preparation of two starters, two main courses (“primo” and “secondo” according to the Italian tradition) with side dishes and a dessert of the local tradition. The menu is different from season to season and it can be arranged according to all your specific requirements.
…some traditional dishes: fresh pasta with ragù, “pasta e fasoi” or “bigoli all’anitra”; the tasty risotto with mushrooms, with IGP red radicchio produced in Treviso or with IGP white asparagus from Bassano del Grappa and Cimadolmo; “risi e bisi”; “sopa coada”; grilled meat with the ubiquitous “polenta” and the “baccalà”! All the products used in the classes are “zero km”, which means they are directly cultivated on the farm where the classes take place or bought at the “farmers’ markets” of the territory, a that guarantee the products are genuine and respect the environment.
At the end of the class you will sit and enjoy all the delicacies you have prepared, drinking the wonderful local Prosecco DOCG!
